As far as nightlife goes, the streets of Clarendon are always packed on a Friday and Saturday night, which is not surprising with all of the exciting nightlife picks along Wilson and Clarendon Boulevards, including Galaxy Hut, Whitlow’s on Wilson and Spider Kelly’s. Arlington is also full of other hot spots besides Clarendon, including Ballston and Courthouse. The neighborhoods of Washington, DC are also close by. Stop by Georgetown for a drink on the waterfront, great restaurants, and of course some of the best shopping in the DC area.

Windy Run Park is the main source of recreation for Riverwood residents. This 14-acre park has loads of nature for exploring, including Windy Run Stream and nature paths. The nature paths in the community connect to both Potomac Heritage Trail and Kenmore Street. Potomac Heritage Trail is an ideal trail for both leisure and travel, with miles of paved and gravel trails. Another large park in the area is Potomac Overlook Park, which is located just a couple of blocks north of the neighborhood. This park has 70 acres of trails, educational gardens, a picnic area and a nature center.
Traveling Around Riverwood
Residents find the easiest way to commute to work and get from Point A to Point B is by car. The closest main roads include Lee Highway, I-66, Military Road, and George Washington Memorial Parkway. This makes it easy to get into Washington, DC, the rest of Arlington, plus other Northern Virginia destinations west of Arlington. The Potomac Heritage Trail is more of a scenic transportation option nearby, giving residents access to a major hiking, biking and jogging trail. This trail runs all the way from Virginia to Pennsylvania.
